Your experience as a competent 2nd Chef/Cook within the kitchen team, use to covering the role of Cook Manager in the absence of the main Cook, will allow you to really step up and successfully support the running of the catering operation within the Home.

This includes preparing high quality home cooked, fresh, nutritional meals and catering for any dietary and cultural needs.

  • Required to, in the absence of the Cook Manager, lead, motivate and direct a team of kitchen colleagues to deliver a first class catering service to the residents within the Home.
  • Preparing menus in consultation with the Cook, Home Manager, residents, families, catering committees. Understand individuals nutritional needs and choices of residents at all times. Ensuring the quantity and quality of all food served is to the required nutritional standards.
  • Preparing any beverages and snacks throughout the day, around the needs and choices of residents.
  • Following, and in the absence of the Cook, planning and delivering, set menus.
  • When required to by the Cook, taking responsibility for stock taking, stock rotation and storage of stock, including checking and receiving deliveries.
  • Required to monitor and replenish kitchen and food stocks, in conjunction with the Home Manager, and maintain records of the same, in line with Company procedures.
  • Responsible for the presentation of the dining areas.
  • Supervising all other kitchen staff
  • Ensuring that high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and food preparation are maintained at all times to meet environmental food safety standards.
  • Supporting the Chef with supervisions and appraisals
