Assistant Management Accountant - Near Saltburn

Working for a large manufacturing company, as part of month end, you will review operating expenditure comparing to budget and rolling averages.

You will also carry out investigations of any unusual values and provide explanations or adjustments as necessary.

You will be responsible for the preparation of detailed cost budgets across the business, in addition to full year forecasts throughout the year, working with the cost centre Managers.

Other Duties

  • Present and explain performance to cost centre Managers through monthly reviews ensuring an understanding of the financial performance of their area of the business.


  • Utility Costs

  • Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of month end accruals and provisions, liaising with the business Managers to ensure postings are accurate and reflective of activity, improving the current cost allocation to correct businessareas
  • Complete month end reviews and accruals where appropriate to ensure an accurate period closure. Working with Assistant Account (Financial) to limit the volume and value of invoices on "hold" each month.

You will be required to support other members of the Finance team as and when required on duties includingbut not limited to:

SAP Service Entry Sheet (SES) cover
CAPEX Assistance
Operating expenditure review and analysis
Cost per Tonne (CPT) analysis and interrogation

Required Qualifications/Experience
Part qualified ACCA/CIMA (study support will be provided)
Advanced knowledge of Excel
Comfortable in handling large quantities of data, analysing and preparing reports
Articulate with excellent communication skills
SAP experience preferred
