Extrastaff are currently working with a client of ours in Crawley who are seeking a Deputy Operations Manager to join their team.

Our client are looking for a team player who is experienced in transport & logistics to support the Head of Operations in allarea's of the day to day running of the logistics side of the business.

The right person for this role will be able to deal with all area's of the business to ensure good are sent to customers in an accurate and timely manner.


The role is Monday to Friday and will be a 9 hour day between 0800 and 1900, and 1 weekend in 4 will be on call, which is paid as a monthly bonus.

Each weekend you are on call is paid as a monthly bonus. The salary for this role is between £28000 and £35000based on experience.


Requirements:


  • Ability to identify problems, assess and solve them
  • Knowledgeable in transport, logistics and supply chain sector
  • Experience managing inventory using ERP system
  • Responsive to customer need and able to be flexible to achieve this
  • Able to work with multiple divisions within a business
  • Full UK driving licence

Responsibilities:


  • Plan and control daily deliveries to ensure deliveries are on time and accurate
  • Responsible for transport team, 3 vans and 3 drivers. Van MOT's and licence checks, also hire vans and agency staff when necessary
  • Communicate with the sales team, engineering and projects to coordinate workloads
  • Liaise with external suppliers and clients as an when necessary, maintaining professional relationships with all external contact
  • Fill in for Head of Operations when required
