Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within Surgical and Critical Care at University Hospital Monklands as a Band 3, Clinical Support Worker - Acute - Theatres.

There are
3 full time
permanent posts available (37.5 hours per week).


Shift Pattern; Rotational (including weekends, night duty & on call).


As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will carry out care duties for patients, in support of a registered nurse/Operating Department practitioner (ODP) and will regularly work unsupervised but with the wider theatre team available for reference at all times.

The post holder will also carry out assigned duties involving direct and indirect patient care within the theatre environments.


The post holder will be required to perform physical/technical/emotional aspects of patient care in an efficient, effective and responsible manner with accuracy in a busy environment.


KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB

  • SVQ III in perioperative care or working towards or equivalent peri operative experience.
Or

  • SVQ III in healthcare, or working towards, or equivalent experience working within a caring environment/role.
Or

  • Post holders with no previous clinical healthcare experience will be treated in accordance with Annex U Arrangements for Pay and Banding of Trainees. Initial induction period of up to 3 months, followed by a period of training and consolidation to achieve full competency across a range of specialties within 12 months following induction.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • To actively participate in the Personal Development Plan process to fulfil the requirements of continuing professional development.
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology
