Job Title - Games Mathematician

Location - Birmingham (Hybrid) (3 days in the office, 2 days from home)

Team - Games Mathematics and Concept

Salary - up to £35,000 + comprehensive benefits (inc flexible working hrs, private pension, 26 days holiday + much more).

Responsibilities.....

Create, verify, review and maintain mathematical models that describe game operation, ensuring accuracy and adherence to game specification documents.
Work alongside game producers to ensure delivery of completed mathematical models on schedule and to required quality.
Perform statistical analysis of casino games performance including payout value, win frequency and volatility.
Provide computer simulation and analysis of new and existing mathematical models.
Liaise with game designers and programmers to develop new game mechanics from concept through to release.
Conduct proactive analysis and modelling to uncover hidden opportunities and then communicate insights to the game development team.
Design and develop algorithms to work at scale and to extract insight from large data sets.
Have an indepth understanding of trends and techniques within the online casino games market and use this to develop and improve products.
You will be expected to combine available data, appropriate methodologies to deliver the best possible evidence to support business decisions.
Maintain various active data streams related to game development and performance.

Must Haves.....

At least 2 years relevant experience working at an igaming company.
Welldeveloped multitasking and priority setting skills with the ability to work on multiple projects
An understanding of gambling and relevant probabilitytheory
A professional with the ability to work closely with other departments to solve complex problems involving game probability and data analytics
Excellent skills in Excel logical, text, date, statistical, lookup and reference functions, charts and formatting are a must
Can create clear visual representations of data
The ability to provide indepth review of technical documents, identifying any errors or inconsistencies
Able to explain game mathematics to a nonmathematical business person
A strong academic background, degree level as a minimum (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field)
A champion for, and proven experience in, the use of statistics and probability

Bonus Points for.....

An understanding of the principles, strengths and shortcomings of a wide range of analytic techniques.
Understanding of player psychology in a gambling context.
Experience in algorithm development.
Experience performing qualitative analysis, preferably for an internet or technology company.
The ability to interpret C++/Python in order to troubleshoot game simulations under development.
Can demonstrate a capacity for developing and understanding business and product strategy.
Experienced in building and managing high performing models that support and push the business to excel.
