Negotiable dependant on experience


Key Duties:


  • To ensure the client is dealt with and matter and documents are completed in line with office manual procedures.
  • To maintain files in a neat and orderly state and ensure each file is reviewed regularly in accordance with the file review procedures as laid down in the office manual.
  • To ensure the confidentiality and security of all company and client documentation and information.
  • To ensure the client is regularly updated as to the current situation of their case.
  • To greet clients in a professional and pleasant manner.
  • To issue client care documents at the relevant time.
  • To ensure that continuing contact is maintained with clients in accordance with LEXCEL procedures.
  • To deal with all client enquiries effectively and efficiently and to ensure that all client complaints are dealt with professionally and in accordance with the Companies complaints procedure in the office manual.
  • To always maintain clear and precise communications between yourself and other members of staff.
  • To develop support staff in order that they may possess the skills for the continued efficiency and success of the department and the Company. To encourage in support staff the sense of team spirit which is necessary for the future growth of the Company.
  • To ensure the quality of work produced by support staff is of a high standard.
  • To understand the obligations relating to client accounts and ensure the preparation and service of bills to comply with the Solicitors Accounts Rules.
  • To take positive steps to market the services of the Company and your department and to ensure that your existing clients are aware of the various types of legal work which the Company undertakes.
  • To ensure that good working relationships are maintained with external institutions and organizations whilst still following the correct code of professional conduct.
  • To maintain time recording on matters daily.
  • To adhere to the SRA code of conduct and professional standards and to adhere to the companies' policies and procedures as set out in the office manual.
  • To participate in departmental and other meetings to assist the continued success of the Company and the department.
  • To undertake training as required and agreed in your annual appraisal with your head of department.
  • To be familiar with and adhere to all company policies and procedures in so far as they relate to the role you undertake.

Experience:


  • A minimum of 2 years PQE within criminal matters.
  • If Qualified The post holder shall hold a valid practicing certificate issued by the Law Society or an ILEX Qualification.
  • Experience mentoring and supporting staff across the business.
  • Confidence to work independently.
  • Experience of handling own caseloads
