If so, Randstad Education is looking for an empathetic and creative learning support assistant to support teaching and learning across a primary school in Welwyn Garden City.



School overview

This school is a two form primary school located in the heart of Welwyn Garden City.

It is a large site with excellent facilities including separate classrooms, large dining hall for lunch times and a woodland with a music garden.

This school strives to create a fun and friendly environment for its students and staff.


As a learning support assistant you will work alongside the teacher to ensure the lessons are running smoothly and you will assist the children in their learning.

There is also the opportunity to do some 1:1 with some of the SEN children depending on your experience and qualifications.

Your role and responsibilities:

  • Assisting the teacher in planning and implementing lessons
  • Supporting individual students or small groups in their learning activities
  • Working towards a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Providing feedback and assessments to both the students and teachers
  • Collaborating with the teaching staff to ensure effective classroom management

Requirements:


  • An understanding of childrens needs and feelings
  • A minimum of 6 months experience working with children in the UK
  • An enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service), or be willing to get one
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Eligibility to work in the UK is essential
  • NVQ (Level 2) is desirable
