Koala North West are recruiting a part-time Neonatal Peer Support Coordinator

Coordinator, Neonatal Peer Support
The role is part time - starting at 30 hours per week. (job share will be considered)

Salary £23,100 (pro rata) / Actual salary £18,730.


Purposes of the job

  • To develop a neonatal peer support service within the neonatal units across Cheshire & Merseyside.
  • To meet the outcomes and outputs agreed with funders

Main duties

  • Providing support and supervision to existing neonatal peer support volunteers across Cheshire & Merseyside
  • Recruitment of new peer supporters to volunteer on the neonatal units across Cheshire & Merseyside
  • Training of peer supporters across the region
  • Operate at all times from an inclusive values base, which recognises and respects diversity
  • Provide statistical information on the number of families, nature of cases and outcomes achieved
  • Support and supervision of all peer support volunteers
  • Ensure a comprehensive understanding of the relevant safeguarding legislation, guidance and best practice.
  • Networking appropriately within the community
  • Direct support for parents when peer support volunteers are not available
  • Attend and participate in the North West Neonatal Operational Delivery Network
  • Organising and attend activities for volunteers at Christmas and National Volunteers Week.
