Yolk Recruitment is working with a long-standing financial institution who are looking to hire a Data Governance professional to lead a team in delivering outstanding data management and governance services and help them to continue integrating cloud technologiesinto the business.

As a key member of the data management team, you will be responsible for ensuring that the company's data is owned, understood, and cared for in line with its value.

The role has a real focus on the leadership of the team and would requirereglar office visits of ideally once per week.

What you'll be doing:


  • Lead and manage a team of data professionals to deliver highperforming data management and governance services.
  • Establish and operate the company's Data Owner Framework and associated governance processes.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement across supported data capabilities, including data definition, lineage/metadata management, and quality management.
  • Own and maintain the Enterprise Business Glossary, Data Catalogue, and Data Dictionary.
  • Drive adoption of the Data Governance, Data Quality, and Reference Data Platform.
  • Deputise for the Head of Data at COO leadership events and enterprise governance committees.

What you'll bring to the team:

  • Certified Data Governance professional with significant experience in financial services or similar regulated sectors.
  • Proven experience leading a team of data professionals and managing performance.
  • Strong understanding of the Data Management Lifecycle and familiarity with Data Management Frameworks.
  • Strong planning & organisation skills to enable team engagement over a 1218 month time horizon.
  • Technically minded with strong data skills and innovative problemsolving abilities.
  • Solid understanding of the Data Management Lifecycle and familiarity with Data Management Frameworks (e.g. DAMA, DCAM or similar)
