About Cornwall Mind
Cornwall Mind was formed by the merger of two smaller Mind organisations in 2020.

We are an independent CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) and aligned with the vision and values of National Mind set out above.

We provide opportunities for recovery from mental ill-health and maintaining wellbeing for the People of Cornwall.


About the role


The Mental Wellbeing Caseworker will work with people experiencing mental ill health and referrals will come from Community Energy Plus (CEP).

Using a psychosocial model, the role will support people with their mental health, putting people in the driving seat of their recovery.


The post holder will provide support over a two-stage process of engagement beginning with a one-to-one session to create an individualised recovery action plan with the client.

The post holder will then go on to deliver a full day workshop to a group of clients focused on proactive coping skills, highlighting the correlation between fuel poverty and mental wellbeing.

It also will look at managing fuel poverty itself with proactive skills on budgeting, threaded with insight to empower and build self-esteem needed to be proactive.


The primary objective of this post is to provide the support needed for participants to engage effectively with their energy advisor with the aim to improve fuel poverty.


The post holder will also be expected to provide ad hoc mental health support and wellbeing training to the staff at CEP.


Overall Responsibilities
1.1. To develop healthy, supportive professional relationships with clients.

1.2.

To work with clients to encourage their ownership of self-care, recovery tools and rehabilitation plans, liaising with them and the team to make changes where necessary.

1.3. To ensure project is delivered safely for both self and clients.

1.4. To ensure client experience is high quality, responsive and personalised.

1.5. To complete project paperwork.

1.6. To report issues in a timely fashion to Mind manager

1.7. To be proactive about own training and development


Main Duties
2.1. Work with referrals allocated by CEP.

2.2. Develop an understanding of the challenges and strengths of each individual.

2.3. To deliver regular wellbeing workshops across Cornwall to allocated clients on mental wellbeing and fuel poverty.

2.4. To support the CEP team through workshops on staff wellbeing and resilience.

Provide outreach support to people including:

  • The development of selfcare and recovery plan.
  • All plans will be developed alongside the participant to ensure their ownership and to promote selfbelief in their ability to get well and stay well.
