Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Point of Care Assistant to become part of our Point of Care team in the busy, professional department.


Point of care testing (POCT) is any pathology analytical process performed for patient care outside of the laboratory by non-pathology staff.


Your duties will include trouble shooting equipment outside the laboratory, delivering consumables and quality control material and administrative tasks in support of the POCT team.

You will maintain the departments quality management system and manage POCT databases.

You will need to have good communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work with mínimal supervision. Own transport is desirable.

The position offers the opportunity to become a valued member of our extremely friendly team.

Previous experience in point of care testing, laboratory or a health care setting is desirable but not essential as full training is given.

Working hours are 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday).

We are also open to considering flexible working hours and job sharing (pro-rata) so long as the service needs are met.
