Description

Solar PV Design Engineerrequired for our client, a leading renewable energy company who are an expert in their industry. The projects they deliver reduce carbon emissions by between 70-80% meaning you will play a critical role in helpinghomeowners, housebuilders and business owners taking action as the country moves towards NetZero.

The work will vary but will include being responsible for the bespoke design of Solar PV Systems, EV chargers, Battery and basic BMS.

Design work will include both the commercial and domestic sector.

Solar PV Design EngineerPosition Overview

Responsible for designing quality electrical designs for the Solar PV systems we install, from feasibility to the handover/completion.
Assisting with DNO notifications and providing MCS certificates.
Work as part of a team with other technical designers, project managers and sales consultants, to create a costeffective detailed technical design to meet the specification.
Meet with clients and lead design meeting to establish the brief and budgets.
Provide guidance to any Solar PV technical queries that arise in the business (EG: from the service department.)
Always look to improve efficiency and reliability by, for example, looking to develop standard, reusable design patterns.
Provide guidance to Junior Engineers.
Continually keeping up to date with relevant technologies in order to provide advice to the company on technology choices.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and other internal teams.
Support the design of mechanical systems/equipment to provide for a useful and safe workplace.

Solar PV Design EngineerPosition Requirements

Qualified in Electrical Engineering at degree level or equivalent.
Knowledge and experience in designing renewable energy systems, including Solar PV.
Knowledge of CAD, and Microsoft Office.
Knowledge on Electrical regulations, 18th Edition, Cable Calculations.
Basic knowledge of Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EESS.)
Full driver's license.
Passionate about renewables.

Desirable:

Knowledge on software's, such as PVSol and PVSyst.
Knowledge on products the company sells: EG: SMA, SolarEdge, JA Solar.

Solar PV Design EngineerPosition Remuneration
- £40,000 - £44,000

Mon-Thurs 8:008:30AM 5:005:30PM, Fri 8:008:30AM 3:00 3:30PM
