Overview of role:


Key details:


  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3.15pm
  • Termtime only (38 weeks per year)
  • Wage: £6.40 per hour
  • Location: Thorneloe Road, Barbourne, Worcester, Worcestershire, WR1 3HZ

Apprenticeship details:


  • Qualification: Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard
  • Duration of course: 16 months
  • Training Provider: LMP Education (Rated in top 10 of UK providers)
  • All learning delivered online/ remotely alongside role.

Full Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Supporting pupils learning, either in groups or through 1:1 work
  • Supporting pupils selfesteem, inclusion and behavioural development
  • Provide learning support to children with significant care needs
  • Encourage and promote inclusion in the classroom, ensuring all pupils feel involved with tasks and activities
  • Undertake support activities for the teacher as required, e.g., photocopying, preparation of materials, mounting displays
  • Assist in maintaining class records and contribute to reports on pupil progress and development as directed
  • Assist in facilitating school events, e.g., school plays, events
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other staff and parents or carers

Summary:

During this teaching assistant apprenticeship you will promote self-belief, social inclusion and high self-esteem which will play an integral part to pupils' wellbeing.

You will become an essential part in the learning environment for the classroom teacher and pupils. Working to ensure pupils thrive in a positive, nurturing and safe environment. It is an active role supporting the learner to access the curriculum and expand their knowledge. TAs play a crucial role in supporting teachers and pupils. Your work can have a significant impact on the children's learning experiences, helping them to succeed academically and personally.

Milestone 1. Keeping children safe in Education - (KCSIE Policy, child protection, safeguarding awareness, serious case reviews, health, safety and wellbeing legislation)

Milestone 3. Child Development and Behaviours - (Child Development Practitioners, stages of development, Behaviour Management).

Qualifications Requirements:


  • GCSE or equivalent (Functional skills) English (Grade 4) essential
  • GCSE or equivalent (Functional skills) Maths (Grade 4) essential
