We operate across the UK and Ireland, serving global markets through our sister company Glen Dimplex Heating & Ventilation International division.

Main Purpose
An excellent production planner is well-versed in production procedures and ways to optimize them. They are organized and results-driven with great problem-solving skills.

The overall goal of a successful Production Planner is to ensure the smooth and cost efficient flow of GDHV production operations.

Responsibilities

To interrogate SAP system to determine production requirements
Develop a production schedule for a wide range of fabrication assets that optimises the use of all available resources
Liaise with internal customers, suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure plan is delivered
Communicate effectively with key team members to ensure all people, materials, and machinery will be available when required
Troubleshoot problems that occur during production, including staff shortages and machinery malfunctions. Assesses the impact of these and provides alternative solutions.
Communicate effectively with team members in relation to production plan and any potential issues in relation to supply or impacts on downstream processes
Prepare reports in relation to production processes for management teams and suggests ways to improve efficiency
To carry out all other duties deemed appropriate to the role.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

ESSENTIAL

Good Standard of Education
Experience of production/manufacturing systems and control
Previous experience directly with customers
Experience gained within an engineering / manufacturing environment
The ability to work under pressure
Positive attitude
Ability to problem solve efficiently and effectively

DESIRABLE

Experience of SAP system
