Area Coordinator (Tech to Community Connect)


HOURS:
Full time (36 hours per week)


SALARY:
£24, 000 - £26, 000 per annum


LOCATION:
Home based or office based with daily work out in the community across Surrey


REPORTING TO:
Technology Lead

The project


Tech to Community Connect is a collaborative service led by Surrey Coalition of Disabled People and Action for Carers Surrey.

The service includes the provision of a device, a 'match' with a volunteer tech angel and digital literacy guides, the provisionof a programme of virtual social and activity groups and, finally, the opportunity for people to virtually volunteer.

The Tech to Community Connect service is on offer right across Surrey.


The role


To drive and coordinate referrals into and through the service, making sure that people facing digital exclusion get the support they need to get (and stay) connected.


Main responsibilities
1.
Coordination of Tech to Community Connect activity

2.
Database management and record keeping following all data security policies.

3.


On-going support for people using the service who are in a 'match' with a volunteer Tech Angel, those waiting for a 'match' or those who are accessing another part of the service.

4.
Reporting and impact measurementfollowing agreed procedures

5.
Writing case studiesand sharing the stories of people the service is helping

6.
Promoting the serviceby pro-actively building relationships across organisations and groups in Surrey


Person specification

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a range of formats and with a variety of audiences
  • Advanced organisation and coordination skills
  • Good level of computer literacy
  • A high degree of selfmotivation and able to work on own initiative
  • Lives within Surrey
  • The ability to either work from home (with daily work in the community) or be based from our office in Burpham, Surrey
  • An understanding of GDPR and adult safeguarding principles
  • Experience and knowledge of working with people who are Disabled, have a longterm health conditions and/or carers
  • Experience in group facilitation or training


This role requires the successful applicant to have an Enhanced Disclosure and Baring Service check (and we will organise and pay for this for you if you are successful).
