GSL Education is working in partnership with an Ofsted graded 'Good' Secondary School in Selby, North Yorkshire, to appoint a qualified Art and Design Teacher for a part-time contract.

The position is due to commence after the February Half-Term, deliveringKey Stage 3 and GCSE Art and Textiles. You will be joining a highly supportive school and department, where staff are offered regular CPD and progression opportunities.

About the Job:


  • To plan, deliver and track progress of Key Stage 3 and 4 Art and Textiles.
  • Develop young people's knowledge and understanding of Design Technology.
  • Plan, differentiate and adapt lesson plans and schemes of work, in accordance with the OCR examination board.
  • Manage behaviour with clear expectations within the classroom, promoting an inclusive learning environment for all.
  • To act professionally, as a positive role model for all pupils.

Art and Design Teacher Requirements:


  • Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) with recent UK syllabus teaching experience.
  • Be able to teach Key Stage 3 and GCSE Art and Textiles.
  • Be able to provide 2 relevant Art and Design teaching references; placements will be accepted for Early Career Teachers.
  • Establish a supportive, positive, and appropriate relationship with students.
  • Work collaboratively with the SENCO, Head of Department and Senior Leaders.
