A newly launched multi strat Hedge Fund based in London, is looking for Hedge Fund Accountant to add value to its entrepreneurial high performing business.

The business trades across a number of key markets, covering Equities, Fixed Income and Credit Derivatives across global markets.

The Hedge Fund Accountant will gain direct exposure to senior portfolio managers, partners and business heads, and have autonomyto shape and build internal fund accounting infrastructure.

Managing fund accounting services for investment portfolio managers as the number of strategies and funds diversity and increase to service growing business volumes and AUM.

Key Responsibilities
Hedge Fund Accountant

Prepare Fund P&L reconciliations between internal systems and the Fund NAV from the administrator (weekly estimate / monthly final).
Review of Funds' nontrading expense items and coordination of invoice signoffs.
Monitor and adjust accruals and expenses in each Fund's NAV.
Involvement in the valuation process and provide support to the Valuation Committee.
Reviewing Monthly/Quarterly Management accounts for Funds, Holdco's and SPV's.
Management of queries from Outsource Administrator and timely resoultion.
Take part in the audit process to help deliver accurate yearend statutory accounts.
Assist in the review of AIFMD regulatory reporting and ensure regulatory compliance.
Reviewing and implementing processes to improve intramonth controls and smooth out the workload associated with a monthly NAV cycle. Maintenance of the associated operating manuals.
Dealing with Fund related queries from various departments within the business including PnL discrepancies and IR queries.
Lead the build out of fund accounting infrastructure through projects.

Prerequisites

Hedge Fund Accountant

This is a fantastic position for a Qualified Accountant with a background in Fund Management.
Prior technical product knowledge across Equities, Fixed Income and Credit Derivatives.
Advanced Excel Skills with the ability to improve fund accounting processes, via VBA Macros and coding.
Adept problem solving skills, coupled with first class communication skills.
Prior project delivery experience, building out process, controls and framework for fund accounting for fund manager or hedge fund.
