Brief Description:


About the Role


The Resourcing Business Partner (RBP) owns the end-to-end process for executive resourcing and recruitment for the CEO office, providing consultancy and talent acquisition strategies that are aligned directly with business objectives.


Through coordination with sourcing, shared services and resourcing support, the RBP leads senior level recruitment service delivery and client relationship management; working closely with colleagues in the wider HR team to deliver holistic, influential, and proactive talent solutions.


There will also be a requirement to support the resourcing strategy by managing strategic projects which will define, shape and improve overall resourcing centre of excellence.


  • Collaborate with colleagues, including in HR Operations, Resourcing, Industrial Relations and Employee Relations to continuously make improvements to the graduate and apprentice system and support Program Leads with introducing governance, at a national and industry-wide level.
  • Successfully deliver the client group a responsive, consultative and value-adding resourcing service, adhering to best-in-class relationship management principles, and challenging and gaining acceptance from key stakeholders if required.
  • Manage deployment of support services within Centres of Excellence, Human Resources Shared Service (HRSS), sourcing, and resourcing support, defining specific deliverables and timescales wherever appropriate.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the rail industry, HR and client groups to determine medium to long-term talent requirements and skill shortages to inform early careers demand plans and placement structures.

What essential skills and experiences are required?

  • Demonstrable experience of end to end recruitment of executive level positions, including attraction, assessment and selection.
  • Demonstrates excellent business/commercial approach and understanding of business needs.
  • Proven experience of working in partnership and building strong working relationships with senior managers in order to improve resourcing delivery.
  • Passionate about customer service with ability to articulate previous achievements through business deliverables.
  • Knowledge and experience of implementing best practice recruitment solutions to drive a value added service.
  • Experience of influencing senior managers.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to negotiate and influence effectively with all levels of an organisation.
  • Understands how to work with the business to identify, develop and implement appropriate resourcing solutions.
  • Proven track record of operating in a complex working environment.

We would also like, but not essential:

  • CIPD, Resourcing or Project Management qualification or equivalent
