North East - Travel required between Newcastle & Middlesbrough centres along with to our support and internship programme

Hours: 35 (plus 5 hours paid lunch breaks) Mon-Fri 9am-5pm
The Area Student Support & SEND Coordinator role is responsible for the key areas of Student Support including SEND and safeguarding across the two Education Centres and Supported Internship Programme in the region.
The role holder will develop and nurture relationships with internal stakeholders, external agencies, and support networks to ensure the provision of inclusive and personalised support for student with diverse needs and disabilities.
They will also play a pivotal role in creating an inclusive learning environment that fosters equality, maximises engagement and achievement, and promotes positive student outcomes, progression and independence.
This is a people management and delivery support role. You will be line managing a team of 2 Learning Support Assistants. There will also be the opportunity for hybrid working when not travelling to our centres
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Indepth knowledge of different types of learning needs and disabilities, assessment processes, and appropriate support strategies for students with diverse needs
- Experience of working with students with SEND
- Knowledge of the legal requirements and statutory guidance of the SEND Code of Practice; experience in contributing to annual EHCP review meetings.
- Experience in developing and implementing support plans and for students with SEND, in collaboration with teaching staff and external agencies.
- Knowledge of the Further Education and Skills sector and the related funding and regulatory frameworks

£28,038.00-£30,326.00 per year
