  • Due to workplace location it is essential to drive and have your own transport. Plenty of free parking available on site


We are delighted to be working alongside our successful and established client as they seek to seek a Packing Supervisor on a permanent basis.

Experience of using a counter balance forklift is essential. Previous experience of using stock control systems is highly beneficial.


The role:

The Packing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the accurate and prompt fulfilment and delivery of orders to customers. This role includes overseeing order picking and packing, stock organisation and correct storage of frozen finished product.


The Packing Supervisor is responsible for constantly monitoring and reporting stock levels, so forms a crucial link between the Packing, Customer Services and Operations team/s.


Skills and experience required:


  • Extensive packing experience, ideally within the food industry
  • Strong organisation skills
  • The ability to supervise a team and delegate tasks
  • Clear communication skills
  • Able to work at a fast pace and adapt quickly to changing business needs.

Responsibilities and duties:


  • Collect daily orders and all relevant paperwork from Customer Services
  • Ensure all orders are correctly picked, recording batch details
  • Responsible for accurately and swiftly updating Customer Services and Procurement on stock levels
  • Oversee and assist with packing orders ready for collection by courier
  • Provide Customer Service with delivery notes daily
  • Responsible for all processes in the packing area
  • Bring in raw ingredient on arrival
  • Check and record temperature of product
  • Responsible for checking deliveries in against packing lists
  • Manage packing team members effectively delegate and act as the first port of call for team needs
  • Ensure packing area is thoroughly cleaned and waste disposed of correctly and safely
  • Ensure stock is rotated
  • Assist in the training and induction of new packing staff members
  • Ensure packing staff follow correct PPE procedures
  • Report all breakages and discrepancies swiftly to relevant office department
  • Be accountable for the packing team report any issues within the department swiftly to Manager
  • Maintain that all staff are following OH&S in the packing areas
  • Develop with Operations and Customer Services systems to monitor performance within the packing department
  • Identify, assess and report any areas where training needs to be developed
  • Daily stock taking, as required
  • Transporting frozen down product to respective holding freezers every morning
  • The organisation and layout of all freezers
  • Scheduling cleaning of all freezers
  • Ensuring all frozen product is correctly stored and rotated
  • Regularly replenishing dispatch freezer, updating Operations on stock movements
  • Monitor freezer temperatures and report any issues, breakdowns etc to Manager
