Description

As the Enterprise Architecture Practice Lead within Primark's Architecture Team, you will play a crucial role in defining and implementing the enterprise architecture strategy.

Reporting to the Chief Architect, you will collaborate closely with the Solution Architecture Practice Lead to ensure coherence and alignment between enterprise and solution architecture.

You will provide strategic direction, thought leadership, and mentorship to enterprise architects, guiding them in developing and delivering robust technology solutions.

Working with the Architecture Strategy Office, you will be developing and implementing an organisation-wide architecture strategy that guides decision-making and ensures consistency, interoperability, and agility across all technology initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the practice of enterprise architecture, supporting the Architecture Strategy Office team in establishing architectural standards, frameworks, and guidelines aligned with Primark's technology strategy.
Drive the development and maintenance of enterprise architecture artifacts in conjunction with the Architecture Strategy Office, including architectural principles, standards, reference architectures, and technology portfolios.
Conduct enterprise architecture reviews and provide guidance on architectural decisions to ensure compliance with standards and best practices.
Stay uptodate with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in enterprise architecture, and advocate for their adoption within Primark.
Communicate enterprise architecture strategy, principles, and decisions to stakeholders, promoting awareness and understanding
Represent the Enterprise Architecture Practice as part of the Architecture Leadership Team, including within the Architecture Design Authority
Develop target and evolutionary architecture in accordance with architectural standards set by central guardrails team, and maintain the portfolio analysis and architecture
Introduce new technologies into Primark where required and show value to Primark at both cost and functional levels.

Collaboration

Collaborate with business stakeholders and technology leaders to define the enterprise architecture vision, assess current capabilities, identify future needs, and develop roadmaps for achieving the desired state
Build effective communication channels with business leaders and stakeholders.
Collaborate closely with the Solution Architecture Practice Lead to ensure coherence and alignment between enterprise and solution architecture practices.
Partner with the Chief Architect to align enterprise architecture practices with the overall technology strategy and business goals.
Collaborate with vendors and partners to evaluate their capabilities, identify potential solutions, and ensure successful implementation.
Partner with businesstech teams such as Buying & Merch, Supply Chain etc. to capture and prioritise business capabilities/E2E value streams and roadmaps whilst aligning to overall tech strategy

Leadership

Build, manage and mentor a high performing team focused on delivering the Technology strategy for Primark.
Responsible for the team's performance and development; sets clear performance expectations addressing performance issues head on
Build talent and succession plans in line with current and future business needs, providing opportunities within the team for growth and development.
Operate as a role model within Primark, inspiring and mentoring others to develop and progress,
Act as a coach and mentor for the team, enabling them to take ownership of their careers and supporting them to drive their own development.
Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to enterprise architects, enabling them to develop and deliver robust technology solutions.
Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing among enterprise architects, solution architects, and other technology teams, promoting continuous learning and professional development.
Support Product Managers and Product Owners to understand, communicate and manage technical dependencies, risks and activities across Products and Product Domains and negotiating resolution to conflict
Provide thought leadership in Technology strategy, development models, costoptimisation, innovation and efficiency improvement; drive our cloudfirst and APIfirst implementation approach

Knowledge & Experience Required:

Proven experience as an enterprise architect or a similar role, with a strong track record of defining and implementing enterprise architecture strategies.
Solid understanding of enterprise architecture principles, frameworks, and best practices, with handson experience in enterpriselevel solution design.
