Hours: 8AM - 4PM (Monday to Thursday) & 8AM - 1PM (Friday)

Verus Recruitment Partners are supporting a leading global aerospace & automotive manufacturer based in South Yorkshire in the Recruitment of an experienced CAD/CAM engineer on a full-time, permanent basis.

This opportunity is due to the continued growth andprojects within this global business.

As their new CAD/CAM Engineer, you'd be joining the engineering team at a fast-paced, forward-thinking firm that places innovation at the heart of all they do.

Your responsibilities would include creating CAM programmes, engineering drawings and assisting inthe resolution of machining production challenges.

You will also play an important part in initiatives to enhance existing processes/products and fulfil business KPIs related to safety, quality, cost, and delivery, as well as explore new technologies to furtherimprove operations.


Responsibilities:


  • You would be responsible for generating CAM programs (stage drawings, tool packs, tool sheets, program manuals) for manufacturing parts and assemblies using Siemens NX.
  • Perform CAM simulation (using Vericut) to verify the program prior to prove out on machines.
  • Provide programming support on the shop floor for machining (milling and turning), CMM, grinding and laser.
  • Support engineering change management process. Ensure assessment of change, review, communication, implementation, and release is managed in accordance with company procedures.
  • Work as part of the project team to deliver CI, cost reduction and margin improvement projects.
  • To support NPI/industrialization projects into production
  • On time, to budget and required quality standard.
  • To support design, development and in load of new tools and fixtures. Create tool specifications, supplier selection, conduct design reviews, track development progress, perform production trials and implement into production.
  • Capture, analyse and use data to demonstrate and improve the capability of manufacturing methods.
  • Identification and resolution of quality/engineering issues through effective root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Support the capital investment (CAPEX) process through identification, creating business case, justification and return of investment (ROI) for introducing new equipment, machine, and system into the business.
  • To support and communicate with the operations, quality, commercial and planning teams to deliver customer requests.
  • To identify and assess new technologies which can be applied to give the business a competitive advantage.
  • To conduct health and safety risk assessments and accident investigations promptly where engineering input is required, acting where appropriate to address any areas of concern.

About You:

  • Ideally 5 year's experience in manufacturing or similar industry with a particular understanding of CNC turning and milling using DNC outputs.
  • Extensive experience with Siemens NX61
  • Considerable experience using Vericut simulation software.
  • Extensive experience in generating and interpreting 2D drawings as per ASME Y14.5M199
  • Proven track record of delivering CI and costreduction projects.
  • Experience in programming of the following: 3 and 5axis CNC, CMM (PC-DMIS).
  • Experience in PLM/PDM software.
  • Working experience with manual and CNC machines (Mazak, Dosan, Hermle, Mandeli etc).
What would make you stand out? (Desirable)

  • Experience in programming Laser cutting/drilling (Trumpf & DMG Mori LASERSOFT) EDM fast hole drilling and 5axis grinding.
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing and hightolerance parts/assemblies.
