What you'll do:

This role is part of our friendly, expanding Membership & Accreditation team. We manage everything relating to membership and professional development support for members, from students through to fellows.

You will be providing effective support to the accreditation and professional membership functions, helping members to progress and work towards professional titles in energy.


Main responsibilities will include:

General

  • Respond promptly and professionally to enquiries about membership and accreditation.
  • Contribute to team projects, initiatives and research activities to help transform and improve accreditation and professional membership processes.
  • Maintain and update member records on the database, ensuring GDPR compliance at all times.
  • Represent the EI at events, exhibitions and conferences as/when needed.

Specific to Accreditation

  • Assist with the preparation, planning and execution of accreditation visits at universities and companies, including requesting documentation, organising and attending visits, and communicating with the visiting Panel.
  • Assist with the coordination of Accreditation and Approvals Panel (AAP) meetings, including relevant preparation, liaison with committee members, minuting meetings as/when required, and postmeeting actions.
  • Assist with any administration relating to Learning Affiliate institutions, including invoicing, preparation for renewals, and keeping records up to date.

Specific to Professional membership and registration

  • Assist with the coordination of Membership Panel meetings, including relevant preparation, liaison with committee members, minuting meetings as/when required, and postmeeting actions.
  • Maintain EI's energy efficiency register, making sure it is kept up to date with changes, new applicant details and resignations.
  • Work with the Membership Engagement Officer to promote energy efficiency register via different channels to help bring in new applicants and make it a valuable resource.

Person specification:


  • Experience _
  • Experience of working in a membership, careers or professional development role or similar
  • Experience of running systems and following processes
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write communications in clear, plain English
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Provide helpful, professional and diplomatic advice to a range of audiences
  • Work with committee members and volunteers
  • Experience of working in a team and autonomously
  • Use of CRM systems
  • Competent with MS Office
  • Knowledge, skills and attributes_
  • An understanding of academic qualifications and educational standards
  • An understanding or professional qualifications and professional recognition
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work with people at all levels
  • Adaptable, able to multitask and work to tight deadlines

We hope that you will also have a general interest in energy and climate change but no specific knowledge or experience in the energy sector is required.


Salary:
£27,000 - £29,000 per annum, dependent on experience
