We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Finance Business Partner/Senior Management Accountant to lead our Management Accounting team and join us as we grow and continue to deliver on our vision for our new and existing residents.


What's the role?

As part of our Management Accounting team, you will use your analytical and planning skills to help us deliver a high-quality Management Accounting service that will support the entire business with vital information to better understand and manage our income and expenditure.

You will provide analysis to help decision-making across the business and report on performance against budgets on a regular basis.

You'll work effectively and proactively with colleagues to support all departments in achieving their goals in line with the organisation's objectives.


In this role you will need to:

  • ensure a high standard of customer service
- take personal responsibility for your team and their work

What are we looking for?
You will be customer-focused, with the ability to interact empathetically with a wide variety of people.

You'll have an excellent grasp of budgeting techniques and an understanding of how to effectively provide financial analysis and support.

You will have a background in finance, and knowledge of the housing or construction sectors would be a distinct advantage.


Essential:

  • To create budget working papers for all entities, ensuring congruence with the Financial Business Plan
  • To prepare statutory single entities and consolidated group accounts, complying with relevant accounting standards
  • Knowledge of applicable VAT treatment for all transactions
  • Experience managing and developing staff
  • Creation of management and statutory accounts
  • You will need to maintain a satisfactory basic level DBS check.

Desirable:

  • Experience and understanding of a Registered Provider's financial and related legislation, including the Accounting Code of Practice, accounting standards (particularly Financial Reporting Standard 102) and relevant professional and housing guidance
  • Experience of Open Accounts financial system, Orchard housing system and iTrent payroll system
  • Fully qualified member of the Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies or The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, or relevant experience of working within the sector
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel
