The Strategic Planning Service (SPS) at De Montfort University supports evidence-based decision making through the provision of high quality, timely and meaningful business intelligence.

Through the coordination of the university-wide planning and performanceactivity using horizon scanning and scenario planning, the Directorate helps shape the future of the University.

Faculty / Directorate


Strategic Planning at De Montfort University supports a range of activities - from compiling and submitting student statutory returns, horizon scanning and national performance (through the oversight and regulation function), strategy implementation andmanagement, and the monitoring and management of risk.


You will be motivated to try your hand across these areas, and be prepared to learn new skills and build a foundation of knowledge and good relationships at various levels of the business.

This broad skillset, and positive engagement means you will be involvedin interesting and important decision-making work for the University.


Role


The role will work closely supporting Business Partners and Associate Business Partners within SPS to ensure that the University has timely, relevant, and insightful strategic and planning intelligence, and which helps support the performance managementof the DMU's strategic priorities.


Essential requirements

  • The ability to present information clearly and effectively to colleagues at various levels both expert, and nonexpert, in a variety of media;
  • Highly developed numeracy and IT skills applied in software packages that relate to analysis and/or reporting;
  • Experience in the production; interpretation and reporting of statistical data;
  • Ability to work effectively with large volumes of complex, varied data;
  • An aptitude for learning new packages to support analysis and presentation of information;
