As a Subject Content Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in crafting persuasive and engaging content that resonates with potential students, encouraging them to choose BCU as the gateway to their future success.


Note:
The following position is exclusively available to students enrolled in the following courses at Birmingham City Business School:

  • Business Management
  • Business with Marketing
  • Marketing
  • Events Management
  • Sport Business Management

Content Ideation:

Collaborate with the team to generate innovative and relevant digital content ideas that resonate with the target audience and reflect the Business School's mission and values.


Content Creation:

With the guidance and supervision of the team, transform approved ideas into captivating visual content such as imagery and audio-visual films.

The content should be compelling, ensuring it engages the audience effectively.


Content Publishing:

Support the team in disseminating content across multiple digital platforms, including the school's website CMS and social media channels such as TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, and the school's official blog.

Stay updated with emerging digital channels and assist in adopting new platforms that align with the University's strategies.


Performance Analysis:
Regularly monitor and interpret the performance of digital content using analytics tools and reporting methods. Use the insights gathered to refine content strategies and ensure continuous content engagement and effectiveness improvement.


Market Research:

Keep track of content best practices implemented by competitor universities and other sectors regarding web presence and video production.

Utilize this research to inform and enhance our content strategies.


Online Campaigns:

Collaborate with the marketing team to develop content for both organic and paid online campaigns, aligning the content with each campaign's specific requirements and goals.


Content Planning Support:
Provide administrative and logístical assistance in planning website updates, ensuring smooth arrangements for photography and video filming schedules.

Support Content Officers to generate content ideas that meet the University's strategic aims and user behaviour on chosen channels (i.e. web, social media and CRM).


Turn ideas into reality by delivering content - whether that is sharply written material, great imagery or audio-visual film - that is engaging and which promotes interaction.

Assist the wider team to publish content using the web, CMS, social media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram), CRM communications and any new digital channels the University adopts.


Seek to learn from Content Officers in how to identify content best practice among competitor universities and in other sectors in terms of their web presence, video production, social media posts and CRM communications.

Support with the development of content for organic and paid online campaigns, aligned to recruitment requirements.


Assist with enquiries and change requests to content to ensure that amends/issues are dealt with swiftly and in line with any given deadlines.


Support the Content team with the development of content for internal purposes, such as NSS campaigns, internal staff briefings and awards events.


Assist and support the wide range of activities undertaken within the Department in support of student recruitment, including open days, applicant visit days, business/community events, Clearing and the production of marketing collateral.


  • Currently studying for a degree and studying within the Birmingham City Business School
  • You must be in your second year of study and wish to transfer to a placement year.
  • Experience in content creation, which could be in the form of written or visual content.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to persuade, influence and negotiate.
  • Experience working within a team.
The willingness to learn, develop and enhance your skills.
