An opportunity has arisen for a Staff Bank Administrator to join the Flexible Workforce Department.

This is both a demanding and rewarding role and it is essential that the successful applicant is able to work effectively as part of the team supporting and assisting colleagues.

This post is an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual.

The post holder will be responsible for the effective and high-quality provision of administrative services to the Flexible Workforce Department including the Nurse Bank and Locum Booking Teams.

This involves a wide range of duties including matching ward/department requests for additional staff and using the BankStaff and Healthroster systems.

You will need to be highly organised, able to work autonomously, and be an excellent communicator with the ability to support the teams in the day-to-day operation of the services they provide.


The post holder will provide administrative systems support to the Flexible Workforce Team, predominantly in the Nurse bank Team but will be expected to support other teams within the Flexible Workforce Department.


  • To support the Nurse Bank Team in system administration and staff booking.
  • To support the Locum Booking Team and the eRostering Team in system administration when required.
  • Liaise with bank and agency staff to ensure that designated shifts as requested by services throughout the Trust are filled appropriately
  • Responsible for approving agency timesheets in the 247 time system
  • Liaise with external agencies regarding bookings
  • Undertake various administrative duties to support the daytoday operation of the service.
  • Provide systems support to operational areas on the Health Roster/Bank Staff system.


The primary focus of this role is to provide an effective and high quality provision of administrative services to the Nurse Bank Team and wider Flexible Workforce Department.

This involves a wide range of duties including matching ward/department requests for additional staff and using the Healthroster e-Rostering system when requested by operational areas.

You will need to be highly organised, able to work autonomously, and be an excellent communicator with the ability to support the teams in the day to day operation of the services they provide

  • Undertaking administration on the Health Roster and BankStaff Systems.
  • Updating the bank staff management database (a register of Trust temporary workers details including profiles, contact details, and their ability to work)
  • Checking timesheets and invoices against shifts worked
  • Accurately matching ward/department requests for additional staff with appropriate temporary staff through the database as quickly as possible
  • Monitor temporary staff activity to ensure the Trust is compliant with regulations and working restrictions such as European Working Time Regulations
  • Recording and reporting nonattendance and performance issues relating to temporary staff
  • Preparing information and data as requested.
  • Monitoring attendance and compliance on all mandatory training
  • Responsible for managing own workload and prioritising appropriately to meet deadlines
  • To rotate flexibly with colleagues to ensure the service functions effectively
  • To report concerns regarding workload and any other issues that may require management action to the Team Leader
  • To act as the first line of contact regarding issues involving staff bank/agency nurses
  • Participate in regular management supervision and personal development reviews
