Modality LLP is a large-scale provider of NHS Outpatient Services, renowned for its innovative approach to delivering efficient pathways for patients requiring specialist care, leading to high-quality patient outcomes.

We work in partnership with a number of hospitals across the country to collaboratively redesign outpatient services with more care being delivered in community settings.


We are recruiting to a new role, Head of Clinical Services, will oversee the professional leadership of nurses, HCAs and allied health professionals and lead a portfolio of governance responsibilities for the organisation.

Main duties of the job


The Head of Clinical Services will oversee the professional leadership of nurses, HCAs and allied health professionals and lead a portfolio of governance responsibilities for the organisation.

The post holder will be a practising clinician and have joint responsibility with the Medical Director for Clinical Governance.

The postholder will also be a member of the Executive Team, contributing to the strategic leadership and direction of the organisation.

Key aspects of the portfolio for this role will include:
Professional lead for nursing, HCAs and Allied Health Professionals

Nurse/HCA education and training

Infection prevention and control

Workforce development and succession planning

Child protection and adult safeguarding

Our service offer and expertise include:

  • Over 15 years of experience of delivering community outpatient services
  • Contracts with ICBs and hospital providers
  • A diverse clinical workforce of consultants, GPs with extended roles, specialist nurses and allied health professionals
  • Delivery of over 120,000 patient consultations per year
  • Delivery of 1st consultations within a maximum of 4 weeks from referral from a choice of community locations, 7 days per week

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Senior practising clinician with the appropriate registration and qualifications within their discipline
  • Degree and post graduate education and/or equivalent experience.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Significant experience of working within a similar/senior role
  • Experience of working within a similar service/environment within primary/community/secondary care
  • A strong understanding and experience of out of hospital care/community specialist services
  • Significant experience of leading/managing teams
  • Experience of working between primary and secondary care settings

Skills

Essential

  • Risk management awareness and able to assess clinical risk.
  • Able to work effectively in a team, supporting others and challenging colleagues views and attitudes when necessary.
  • Able assess a situation, set priorities and problem solve quickly and effectively.
  • Strong IT skills and experience of using clinical systems such as Systmone.
  • Ability to be flexible with working hours to meet the needs of the service.
  • Full driving licence and the ability to travel between service locations.
