This is a hands on position, you will be part of a highly motivated work team and will be included to carry out duties as anyone else will be.


PURPOSE OF POSITION


A Senior care worker role is to support the Manager and his/her assistant in all aspects of the homes management, including taking temporary complete charge during the absence of the Manager,
please note this does not change your job title during these periods.


To maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the home, whether it is client information, staff information or information discussed by the Manager.

To help train junior members of staff in all aspects of their work in the home.


To work on-call on an emergency basis only, with other seniors, this may mean you having to cover shifts at short notice, or coming in to work to deal with an emergency if no other senior can be contacted at that time.


PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES


Help to ensure that all staff contributes to the best of their ability to the efficient running of the home and the creation of the right atmosphere, to motivate existing staff and lead junior staff with the routines and well being of every client in the home.

To maintain all policies and procedures including health and safety and infection control issues.

To work alongside staff to observe practices and work to ensure high standards are maintained at all times.

Assist clients with all aspects of care when required.

Cook meals, serve meals, and assist clients at meal times if required.

Answer emergency buzzers, the telephone and greet visitors.

View any potential clients or family members.

To be able to cover shifts when there is staff sickness.

Have a good professional attitude, appearance towards all involved within your work role.

Read and write relevant reports and ensure appropriate written communication with day to day routines as well as reports.

Review clients care plans and maintain all audits of the home regularly and keep them updated.

Take part and attend staff and senior staff meetings.

To maintain professionalism at all times and to ensure appearance in uniform is of a high standard.

Any other duties that are deemed reasonable.


Full time position covering 30 hours per week, covering all days of the week from Monday-Sunday, day shift (8am-2pm/4pm) back shift (2pm/4pm-10pm) required and possibly the occasional night shift 10pm-8am.

5+ weeks paid annual leave every year.

Company pension scheme.


SVQ level 3 in Health and Social care is a requirement for this position and preferably at least 1 years experience in a Senior Role.
