Description

An opportunity has arisen to join the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Employability Team as the Faculty Employability Co-ordinator.

The introduction of the Placement Year programme in 2016 was met with great enthusiasm from students, and the goal of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Employability Team is to increase student employability and enhance student experience.

We work closely with academic departments to deliver bespoke work experience and employability focused projects, both inside and outside of the curriculum, and this role is key in supporting the Placement Year degree programmes and the Faculty internships scheme.

This is a great opportunity to join a small team during a period of growth and development, and to make a real contribution towards student success and achievement within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

The workload will be varied and will require the ability to work effectively with all key stakeholders internal and external to the University, including potential and current students, departmental contacts, colleagues in the central Careers and Employability Service particularly the Placement Year Team, and external employers/placement hosts.

An important element of the role is to ensure that student communication is effective and consistent and that events, vacancies and other opportunities to enhance the student experience are advertised using a wide range of media including web pages, Moodle, Careers connect, Facebook and other social media channels.
