Are you a safety-conscious professional with a passion for excellence? Our client, a leading regional contractor specialising in groundworks for substation projects, is on the lookout for an experienced HSEQ Advisor to join their dynamic team on a permanent basis.


About the Role:


As our client continues to grow, they're seeking an HSEQ Advisor to be a key player in their operations team.

This role will primarily be based at their Lesmahagow office, with occasional site visits across Central Scotland. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of an organisation on a remarkable growth journey.

You'll work closely with the team to ensure that key safety and quality metrics are met during the construction phase, setting and maintaining the highest standards of health and safety.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a robust health, safety, environmental, and quality culture among leadership teams.
  • Lead by example and actively promote compliance with HSE requirements.
  • Provide precise data and reports to the wider business on legislative matters and best practices.
  • Ensure team members adhere to company procedures by providing necessary resources, including communication, training, evaluations, and competencybased assessments.
  • Manage and uphold ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Ensure compliance with the certified Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HSE procedures and manuals to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee both internal and external audits, ensuring the resolution of audit findings.
  • Conduct investigations as needed, delivering timely and accurate reports.
  • Provide training based on insights and knowledge gained from past and future projects.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A background in civil engineering, especially in substation work, is essential.
  • Prior experience in a health and safety role is essential.
  • NEBOSH Safety and NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate are required.
  • Proficiency in managing ISO systems is essential.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 is essential.
  • CSCS certification is a must.
  • Substation authorisation is essential.
  • Proven ability to drive change in HSE procedures.
  • Strong advocate for health and safety standards in all aspects of work.
  • Forwardthinking attitude towards the H&S culture.
