Empowering Learning is currently seeking a skilled and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our specialist SEN provision.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team and make a real difference in the lives of children with SEN.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group support to children with behavioural and emotional difficulties within the SEN provision.
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons and activities to meet the specific needs of each child.
- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment where students feel supported and encouraged.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including teachers, therapists, and support staff, to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
- Support students with their social skills and emotional regulation, helping them develop resilience and coping strategies.
- Maintain accurate records and progress reports on student performance and behavior.
- Communicate effectively with parents/carers, providing regular updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with behavioural and emotional difficulties, preferably within a SEN setting.
- A strong understanding of various SEN conditions, including ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, attachment disorders, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience to support children through challenging situations.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) is essential.

£85.00-£100.00 per day
