The Team:


As Head of Communications for S&P Global Commodity Insights, you will lead an experienced, creative and well-respected team of communicators working out of strategic hubs across the globe.

You will be responsible for designing and executing an integrated communicationsstrategy for the division.


The Impact:


In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Driving strategic external and internal communications for the division, leading a global team of communicators around the world.
  • Working closely with the S&P Global Commodity Insights President and Operating Committee, their leadership teams, and functions, connect our people to our purpose by bringing our divisional strategy to life, communicating our initiatives, and elevatingthe employee experience. Partnering with the divisional People Team and Enterprise team, you will build communication strategies to drive engagement in support of major People initiatives and change communications, aligned to the priorities of the business.
  • Lead external communications for the division, developing strategic plans to grow the reputation and showcase the depth of S&P Global Commodity Insights' energy and commodity benchmark prices, data, and research with media around the world.
  • Oversee the proactive evolution and development of corporate messaging on the energy transition.
The successful applicant will bring global and local knowledge, contacts, and expertise to implement these strategic communication initiatives.

Your charge will also include identifying and implementing leading industry standards, new ways of doing things andadvancing our capabilities by driving engagement and meaningful two-way communications.

Responsibilities:


  • Development and execution of S&P Global Commodity Insights communications strategy, spanning both internal and external communications and aligned with S&P Global's enterprise communications goals
  • Partner with Divisional President and Operating Committee and their leadership teams to ensure successful global internal communications that drive engagement across all S&P Global Platts people and keep them wellinformed to help achieve business objectives
  • Provide strategic thinking and direction to senior leaders in the planning and execution of internal communication programs
  • Support the Operating Committee with the development and execution of change management communications that inspire our people in the context of the ongoing merger integration
  • Draft and secure approval of key messages to be delivered to regional, business, or large functional area employees and manages development of content on change management, business strategies and growth
  • Dive deep into employee listening utilize metrics and feedback to spot trends, identify changes in behaviors and peaks and valleys in engagement, and take appropriate actions
  • Create and lead S&P Global Commodity Insights external communication strategy and oversee global implementation of regional programs
  • Oversee the division's thought leadership program aimed at showcasing the depth of energy and commodity benchmark prices and insights, as well as position the division as a thought leader in the evolving energy transition space. Work with a broad slateof expert commodity and energy spokespeople to drive proactive earned media placement including opeds, feature placement and broadcast opportunities. An important component will be to oversee global media training and development of the division's media spokespeople
  • Identify/align with market trends that impact or influence communication programs, especially around sustainability and the Energy Transition
  • Lead the division's crisis communications strategy aimed at protecting its reputation with the proactive development of approved messaging, especially around its benchmark methodologies
  • Create a communications metricsdriven reporting framework that demonstrates accountability and showcases progress against the overall communications strategy in a digestible format for consumption by divisional Operating Committee leadership. Manage mediashare of voice against peer competitors and proactively make recommendations to tailor communications program based on metrics
  • Manage Divisional Communication team and support their ongoing career development

What We're Looking For:


  • Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Communications, Journalism, English, Business, Finance, or related fields; Master's degree preferred
  • 15+ years of experience in internal, corporate, or strategic communications, or a related field within the financial industry, preferably within a regulated business
  • Strategic thinker who can translate complex concepts to actionable, understandable plans, programs, and materials
  • Strategic and creative problem solver with the ability to think big picture and dive into the details, and deliver on communication programs
  • Ability to engage and manage multiple stakeholders, build strong relationships and networks and effectively, including the ability to drive, convince and influence others
  • Passion for strengthening organizational culture and productivity, and building community within a global, diverse workforce
  • Ability to multitask, working on multiple projects simultaneously with mínimal supervision, and under tight deadlines
  • Ability to be flex in different ways participating in strategic project work and potentially external communications
  • Excellent project management skills
