Our renowned client is a leading UK manufacturer based in Fife. They are currently looking for an Assistant Accountant. The business has excellent "green" credential & have received numerous awards. They have long-term contracts with several household brandsacross the UK & in Europe. This means they have a steady, growing business, despite what is happening in the wider economy.


In this role you will assist the Financial Controller in financial reporting, including assisting in the production of monthly management accounts & KPI's.

You will also prepare Management Information, monitor costs & liaise with stakeholders.

Job
The job of Assistant Accountant will give you responsibility for:

  • Weekly/Monthly financial reporting, analysis & reconciliation of all key figures
  • Business partnering supporting sales with costings, tenders & decision making
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Monitor & control of costs against budget
  • Support the preparation of annual budgets
  • Provide financial analysis as required by other departments
  • Management & reporting of capital expenditure
  • Develop the ERP system to extract information to improve productivity & efficiency
  • Construction & use of financial models
  • Financial management of inventory, including reconciliation of monthly inventory & management of inventory provisions
  • Support the annual financial audit
  • Assist with maintaining the asset register

You
As Assistant Accountant you will be skilled &/or qualified in the following:

  • Skilled in carrying out the tasks listed above
  • Experience of a commercial environment
  • Experience of interpreting financial information & producing reports is desirable
  • Ability to work at both strategic & operational level
  • Excellent communication, presentation & negotiation skills
  • High numeracy, sound technical skills & an analytical approach to work
  • Strong IT skills
