Description

Are you an experienced Clinical/Forensic Psychologist, Nurse, OT or Social Worker? The Strive team are looking for a Clinical and operational Lead to provide leadership to Dorset's Offender Personality Disorder Service.

The service is a psychologically-led, consultation, assessment and intervention service.

The Clinical Lead role is a twofold role; one part will be providing operational leadership for the service, to include consultation to the Probation Service, the development of formulations (Dorset Pathway Project) and therapeutic interventions to those within the Intensive Intervention & Risk Management Service in STRIVE.

The other part will be providing clinical leadership, including supervision to staff.

Along with the clinical and managerial leads for forensic services, you will be working closely with the regional commissioners to present service outcomes at contract review meetings and to take a lead on service development.

You will need to be able to plan and prioritise workload whilst coordinating other staff and disciplines.

Although you may only have experience of clinical work, there is a high level of support and highly visible leadership within the service and you will be supported to undertake the operational roles with formal supervision and close working relationships.

You will be joining a well-established team who value supporting each other to achieve the best possible outcomes.

You will provide assessment reports on service users referred to the service, predominantly from the criminal justice system.

You will be responsible for complex diagnostic assessments and formulations of individuals who are at a high risk of serious harm and have significant difficulties associated with complex trauma.

You will take a lead in developing psychological ways of working for the multi-disciplinary team including formulation, care planning and risk management.

You will work with health and criminal justice agencies and the ability to form healthy and professional relationships with a range of colleagues working across different settings is essential.

You will be required to identify training needs and provide supervision for staff as necessary.

You will be aware of the need to prioritise the health and wellbeing of the team in order that they feel supported in their work.

Ingenuity, creativity, and passion for work are key qualities that we encourage.

There is opportunity to have regular contact and CPD with the wider forensic mental health team within the forensic services and the OPD south network.
