Recovery & Opportunities Coordinator, to work in the Hammersmith & Fulham area.

The service is a 24 hour male only high support hostel, providing support to those who have mental health and additional complex needs including substance use.

In this position, you will be responsible for;

  • Create comprehensive Recovery and Opportunities Programme which incorporates important focus areas including relationships, mental and physical health, substance use and in/formal learning opportunities.
  • Work with partnership agencies to ensure the programme meets the needs of clients and supports their recovery, and move towards independent accommodation.
  • Ensure staff, volunteers and clients are provided necessary training, coaching and resources to be able to deliver all aspects of the programme
  • Plan and facilitate regular client group work sessions, following structured session plans to develop life skills, build confidence and resilience, and promote wellbeing
  • Develop, deliver and/or coordinate a range of group work from lowthreshold precontemplative engagement work to psychoeducational traumainformed learning, Hearing Voices and Unusual Beliefs approaches where appropriate.
  • Assist case holding staff with the development of comprehensive support plans.
  • Update and review needs assessments & risk assessments within the appropriate time frames.
  • Complete reports and forms for commissioners or grant funds.
  • Work in partnership with other departments, statutory and community mental health and social care agencies and networks including lived experience user groups.
  • Assist and empower clients to develop life skills and participate in activities to promote increased independence and involvement with the community
  • Experience working with mental health and complex needs clients
  • Experience in designing, facilitating and evaluating group programmes and activities
  • Experience working with people who have support needs
  • The ability to support staff, clients and volunteers in developing and running groups
  • An understanding of the issues that may prevent engagement, and impact selfmotivation.
  • The ability to act calmly and in a professional manner whilst dealing with unpredictable situations and/or behaviour which is challenging.
  • Knowledge of professional boundaries and how they are likely to impact on the role.
  • Experience developing and maintaining positive partnership relationships with a range of internal and external providers and services.
  • The ability to communicate with different stakeholders and to present ideas clearly
