Woodfields Fruit Ltd is a family run business and we specialise in soft and top fruit production.


We grow multiple varieties of raspberries both in polytunnels and glasshouses over 20 ha harvesting 400tonnes of fruit each year.

Our young and expanding blueberry enterprise is grown under 10 ha of polytunnels and apples, where Woodfields Fruit Ltd began, still play a big part of the business over 50 years later.

As the Senior Irrigation Operative,you will report directly to the Production Manager.

Your role will involve but not be limited to the following:


  • Timely and correct irrigation of a raspberry and blueberry crop
  • Conducting regular water testing
  • Monitoring fertigation programs and their effectiveness
  • Irrigation equipment installation, maintenance and operation
  • Glasshouse maintenance and climate control
  • Assisting to Irrigation Operatives

Previous irrigation experience necessary (preferred experience in fresh produce but all experience considered)

  • However, knowledge irrigation systems can be advantageous
  • AdCon (PRIVA, Hoogendoorn, AdCon for glasshouses)
  • Microsoft Office user knowledge
  • Full clean driving license
  • Attention to detail
  • Organisation and planning skills
  • Communication skills
  • Capability of independent work
  • Willingness to learn
