Job DetailsKey Responsibilities of the Category Planner include but is not limited to**:

  • To ensure manufacturing always has a minimum of 98.5% stock availability
  • To develop and implement Procurement strategies set by the HOD in line with overall company objectives
  • To forecast and facilitate the company's ancillary purchases
  • To deliver on key KPIs around the performance of the Procurement function
  • To analyse sales and manufacturing data highlighting and filling gaps in the supply chain
  • To manage the stock shortages liaising with the relevant stakeholders as required
  • To support the HOD in new and ongoing projects
  • To expedite orders as required
  • To work with the Head Buyer to review the current forecast accuracy and develop them in line with the growth and requirements of the business
  • Manging category budgets and spend
  • To work with suppliers to maximise the efficiency and costeffective delivery of goods and services
  • To construct weekly reports to HOD on current stock position and supply concerns.

What you will have:


  • Experience in working with an ERP system
  • Experience in category planning
  • Working within a manufacturing environment would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with crossfunctional teams and present to senior management.
  • Experience in planning requirements in a fastchanging environment
  • Proven track record of delivering category's on budget
  • Ability to analysis commercial forecasts and converting into an inventory forecast

  • Able to engage with stakeholders of all levels
  • Able to build rapport easily with suppliers and other stakeholders
  • High attention to detail
