Salary £26,677 - £31,285 per annum

The Acute Trust Coordinator will lead on the coordination of a whole-Trust domestic abusemodel within the trust to improve the safety and wellbeing of patients affected by domestic abuse and their dependents.


The role will Improve identification and responses to domestic abuse by engaging health professionals, building capacity, developing an infrastructure of policies and procedures, and training staff within a Coordinated Community Response (CCR) framework.

It will Work with key internal and external stakeholders to grow, embed and sustain best practice responses to domestic abuse.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Work with key practitioners and stakeholders working directly with patients accessing Charing Cross Hospital.
  • Engage with providers of specialist services to survivors of abuse (e.g. Independent Domestic Violence Advocacy Services) serving the catchment areas of the Trust.
  • Align with Standing Together's Health Team to ensure that this project's development aligns with allied operational and strategic work.
  • To service the steering group, including terms of reference, preparation of papers, taking minutes, following up on actions and disseminating information.
  • To identify, develop and coordinate clear and safe referral pathways to specialist services for survivors and their children.
  • Develop and embed a network of Domestic Abuse Links (DALs) across multiple departments in the trust to increase internal resource and build capacity to ensure a sustainable DA response.
  • To support the trust to engage with the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARACs) in relevant boroughs.
  • To coordinate and develop policies, procedures and guidelines to shape the trust's response to domestic abuse.
  • To arrange, assist with and/or deliver training and briefing sessions to trust staff to enable effective implementation of procedures, protocols and best practice responses based on an assessment of training and information needs expressed by staff.
  • To remain up to date on relevant research, reports, Domestic Homicide Reviews and Serous Care reviews, and share this expertise and learning with the Trust.
  • To develop and disseminate resources that support survivors to access support within the trust and staff to respond to domestic abuse.
  • To represent Standing Together and Charing Cross at relevant meetings locally and at outofborough events as appropriate, including public speaking engagements.
  • To embed an intersectional approach to all project work undertaken by the coordinator and ensure that the needs of seldom heard communities are always considered.
  • Monitor progress against the project's action plan and update relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain data and report as required including quarterly and end of year monitoring reports.
  • Ensure consultation with key stakeholders, including health professionals, service users and wider agencies is carried out and built in to project monitoring
External/Partnership Working

  • Act as a professional ambassador for Standing Together in all aspects of work both within but also in any work requiring contact with partners, external contacts, etc.
  • Share any information drawn from external or partnership contact, with managers, other team members and the wider organisation as required
Project Management

  • Work with management and colleagues to ensure all development and project responsibilities are undertaken, including provision of project monitoring data and monitoring/information to support effective team function, funding bids and organisational activities.
General responsibilities

  • Contribute to organisational development and positive change for the effective functioning and sustainability of Standing Together.
  • Share information with colleagues (e.g. feedback from conferences and reports), working in a collaborative manner conducive to organisational effectiveness, development and strategic aims.
  • Undertake all activities within a framework of best practice, commitment to excellence and quality standards.
  • Any other duties, commensurate with the level of the role as requested by the line manager or other appropriate person.
  • Attend and participate in team and organisational staff meetings.
  • Share information with colleagues (e.g. feedback from conferences and reports); keeping colleagues informed about issues arising from your work; consulting with colleagues
  • Actively participate in Standing Together's development linking individual project learning with the wider organisation and sharing training, attendance at external meetings, etc.

Knowledge, skills & experience required:

  • A thorough understanding of domestic abuse, its dynamics, and its impact on the health of survivors and their children.
