About the role:


This is a truly exciting time to join The Clink Charity as we continue to expand nationwide with our hospitality training provision.

Due to the ongoing success of our growing portfolio of training initiatives within HMPPS, we are looking to appoint the new role of Head of Marketing.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with our CEO and will have responsibility for crafting and executing the marketing & communications strategy and plan across all Clink brand initiatives.

Additionally, this role will oversee the PR & Marketing Manager and Social Media Consultant to facilitate a cohesive approach to all our marketing activities.


Broad responsibilities include:

  • The overall management and creation of an internal and external marketing & communications content calendar, plus its planning and execution in a timely manner.
  • Working directly with the SLT to gather information and produce inspirational and creative digital, social and direct marketing content that covers campaigns for all Clink initiatives (Clink Restaurants, Clink Kitchens, Clink Gardens, Clink Events and Clink Bakery) whilst managing budgets and timelines.
  • Lead and support the PR & Marketing Manager & Social Media Consultant on overall content and design of marketing & communications and social media content and execution across all platforms.
  • Manage and collaborate with external agencies on the development of materials across social, digital and PR initiatives within budget.
  • Plan and manage events with Clink Ambassadors and look to drive Ambassador influencer strategy.
  • Work with the Directors and CEO on innovation, both in terms of new products & services and existing projects.
  • Review and report on marketing success including KPIs and ROI on campaigns and make continuous recommendations and improvements. Produce material for Annual Funding and Bid Reports as necessary.
  • Support the SLT in delivering income growth across fundraising channels through Direct Marketing.
  • Oversee any development of The Clink Charity website, identifying opportunities to improve userexperience and performance.

What we are looking for in you:

  • An inspiring, engaging, and experienced Marketeer & Communications Manager with a varied portfolio of industry experience which ideally includes some charity, commercial or government practice.
  • An authentic desire to reduce reoffending rates aligning with The Clink Charity's vision and aims.
  • Technology and social media savvy.
  • Excellent written language with strong copywriting experience.
  • Ability to think creatively and activate campaigns in innovative ways.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to hit deadlines and targets.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Experience managing a team as well as external agencies.
  • Confident ability to present and ability to engage the SLT and align on goals and outputs.
