Overview:

First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic Health Practice business who are looking to recruit a Practice Manager to manage 2 sites across West Somerset

The Practice Manager will predominantly be responsible for providing full management and administrative support to the partners, enabling them to concentrate on patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Provide the organisational framework for the practice to deliver health care efficiently.
  • Management of staff.
  • Management of facilities.
  • Health & Safety.
  • CQC compliance.
  • Quality standards, Enhanced services and QOF.
  • Manage change within the practice in combination with strategic planning.
  • Non clinical patient welfare.
  • Data management workflow
  • IM&T
  • Any other delegated duties considered appropriate to the post.

Skills and Experience:


  • Proven management experience (including management training).
  • Problem solving.
  • Proven IT skills.
  • Experience of managing organisational change.
  • Team building skills.
  • Staff management including recruitment and appraisals.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Diligent attention to detail.
  • Trustworthy & responsible.
  • Self-Motivated able to work unsupervised.
  • Ability to motivate, negotiate & encourage.
  • Honest, caring, pleasant, sympathetic, good humoured, and displays integrity at all times.
  • Good communication skills written and oral.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Confident & calm.
  • Sufficient maturity to command respect from within and outside the practice.
  • Interest in Health Issues.
  • Able to work extra hours at short notice in extreme circumstances.
  • Able to participate in responding to emergencies in relation to the properties.

Desirable Skills & Experience:


  • Health Service management dip/cert (MHSC/MESOL) Degree or equivalent
  • Previous Health Service management
  • GP Practice/PCT/HA/Hospital
  • Experience of managing staff in private or public sector.
  • Multidisciplinary team involvement.
  • Previous experience with finance/budgeting
