We have a fantastic new opportunity to join the Communities Team as
Customer Engagement Specialist on a permanent basis.

You'll be based from any of our locations, with offices in Bristol, Christchurch, Exeter, Newbury and Basingstoke, we can be flexible on your base location.

In the longer term, there may be some travel required between our offices and sites so you should have access to transport and be happy to travel.

The role will combine both home and office working to ensure a positive work/life balance.


The Role
To deliver the Customer Engagement strategy through clear frameworks and Customer Engagement and Scrutiny programmes. The Customer Engagement Specialist will lead a range of activity to drive customer voice through all that Sovereign does.

They will take a lead on a range of customer voice activity across the team including our resident board partnership, service scrutiny, digital engagement, regeneration, and localities.

You will play a pivotal role in advocating customer voice and embedding new frameworks into service delivery.

  • Embed our customer voice frameworks ensuring we meet the need and aspirations of our customers
  • Work with the Head of Communities and Engagement to deliver a new customer engagement strategy embedding diversity, cocreation, scrutiny and customer voice
  • Oversee a digital engagement platform to enable customers in all localities to have their voice heard and influence communities, homes and services
  • Support Customer Scrutiny function to support members to develop skills to play a meaningful role and effectively liaise with colleagues across the organisation
  • Assist and facilitate customer events, events and forums as required
  • Promote the voice of the customer across Sovereign
  • Provide opportunities for diverse customers to have their voice heard through appropriate media and forums
  • Work collaboratively with Community Investment colleagues in to ensure the thriving Communities and Customer Engagement vision is joined up and delivered in localities

What we need from you


The successful applicant will have experience and expertise in working in Resident Involvement/Customer Voice roles gained from working in a similar role.


  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven facilitation skills evidenced in previous roles
  • Knowledge of methods to monitor the quality of data and identify issues
  • Work well under pressure with a positive attitude
  • Be able to develop and lead partnerships whilst been able to build effective relationships
  • Demonstrate positive impact and be able to follow through processes, 'You said, We did'
