Current vacancy for an Estates Engineer working across a varied university campus.
The role is responsible for the operation and legislative compliance of the University engineering infrastructure, the University heating and power strategy, management of the Cedar Energy assets, the sufficiency of utilities supply, the private water supply,the building management system, emergency measures for electrical supply to maintain security / life safety systems and livestock welfare as well as emergency measures for the supply of water.
- Put in place suitable operational arrangements to ensure that the University engineering infrastructure operates efficiently, is compliant with statutory requirements and supports the University strategic aims.
- Coordinate with the Estates Maintenance Manager and the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to make sure that any scheduled maintenance to building services does not adversely affect the operation of the University engineering infrastructure.
- Be responsible for the procurement and supply of utilities ensuring that supply contracts provide value for money and have adequate supply capacity both day to day and to meet the University's longer term strategic aims.
- Be responsible for the management and agreements for arrangements for the discharge of trade effluent and storm water ensuring the University adheres to any agreements in respect of volume and content.
