Purpose of the role:


The main aim of the Rettie Glasgow City Team is to ensure an exceptional customer experience is provided to all our potential and actual customers.

You work closely with your colleagues in your team to ensure we deliver a best-in-class customer experience and by doing so, achieve a market-leading position in our target areas.


Your role as Sales Negotiator is to manage all stages of the sales process from the point of instruction, ensuring you go above and beyond on behalf of your clients.

In order to achieve this, you are a highly experienced salesperson who has demonstrated expert ability in handling client communication and sales negotiations, controlling the sales process and maximising the conversion rate at each stage of the process from instruction to completion.


Key responsibilities:

Delivering exceptional service

Responsible for adhering to agreed sales systems and processes (for both sellers and applicants) with the aim of delivering an exceptional service experience.


  • Responsible for meeting and exceeding your personal targets and contributing proactively to the team targets.
  • Responsible for all stages of the sales process of those properties assigned to you by the Branch Manager maximising conversion rates at each stage

Responsibilities include:

  • Client introduction meeting
  • Ensuring that the marketing material produced meets compliance regulations and also promotes the property to its best advantage
  • Launch strategy for each property including property matching from our database, online and social strategy and other paidfor marketing channels
  • Viewing feedback calls to buyers and vendors
  • Negotiation of offers, including setting and managing closing dates
  • Managing sales progression from offer to completion
  • Responsible for being proactive in identifying and dealing with any issues raised by sellers and buyers in order to ensure an exceptional service experience
  • Trained to an expert standard on sales database (Reapit) and proactively uses the database functionality and reporting to drive personal sales performance
  • Takes a proactive role in supporting the tactical branch marketing plan including:
  • Professional networking
  • Local canvassing activity
  • Recording accurate and detailed customer information to build a database of future potential sellers and buyers
  • Contributing content for the social media profile of the branch using relevant platforms
  • Generating positive customer reviews profile for the branch (Google Reviews etc.)
  • Takes a proactive approach to continuous personal development, actively seeking opportunities to develop skills and capabilities required for the role
Compliance & Administration

Understands regulatory compliance requirements and responsible for ensuring all required documentation is received and processed to meet regulatory requirements:

  • The accuracy of all property marketing materials
  • Written confirmation of conclusion of missives
  • CPR & BPR 2008 Compliance
  • Data Protection Act 2018 Compliance
  • Anti-Money Laundering Regulations
  • Responsible for ensuring accuracy of data input by yourself into Reapit, therefore ensuring the accuracy of management accounts and managing reporting
  • Responsible for adhering to an accurate and compliance electronic and paperbased filing system
  • Invoicing raise marketing fee and sales fee invoices

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience gained in a similar role
  • Expert knowledge of the residential sales processes within the Scottish market
  • Expert in handling sales negotiations
  • Proven ability to deliver financial targets and KPIs
  • Proficient in the use of IT systems including MS Teams, Word, Excel & Outlook.
