Operational Trainer
to join the team in West Bromwich**.

The hours of work and shift patterns are: Monday - Friday

The rates of pay are:
£11.23

Main Responsibilities

  • Work with HR, Recruitment and training team to gather data on new starters and plan specific support needed by each department to ensure a smooth onboarding with the company.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring all necessary items are prepared for first week in the business including, but not limited to, boots, locker, clock card
  • Assist with providing new colleagues support with processes such as; app registrations (Kronos, 2SFG Hub and Hapi), location of facilities (canteen, toilets, locker room, smoking shelter etc )
  • Meet and greet new starters on the first day and attend day 1 of soft landings to explain the role.
  • To work with Line Managers to allocate appropriate buddies for new starters on their place of work. Introduce the new starter to their buddy and monitor the ongoing relationship to ensure buddies are effective. Resolve or highlight any issue to line manager, supervisor or HR / Training teams.
  • Identify barriers to retention and suggest ways to overcome these both short and long term. This may be through day to day interactions with colleagues, facilitated coffee shops and review of metrics to identify trends. Regularly present findings to Training and Competency Manager and HR Manager
  • To ascertain potential and career aspirations of colleagues to feed in to the talent pipeline for progression; liaising with Training and Competency Manager and HR Manager to facilitate development as appropriate.
  • Support the onboarding of our new colleagues following the soft landings induction process, enabling colleagues to reach the standards required by the company and its customers.
  • Observe train and coach new colleagues to achieve the required ongoing standards and SOP's, and to maintain adequate training records for auditing purposes
  • Provide ongoing support on the shop floor, supporting new starters.
  • Working with the Training and Competency Manager and Site Trainer to address immerging training needs
  • Ensure compliance in maintaining accurate and signed training records.
  • Review weekly training program records with Training and Competency Manager to confirm if the required standards have been met
  • Capability Assessment Training Records are reviewed and signed off

General Accountabilities

  • To develop and maintain effective links with the Factory Manager and ensure the needs of the Production Department are met.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to support Managers and colleagues to meet the required standards for their area, be a trusted mentor and advisor
  • Being available to provide information and guidance in a friendly, supportive, confidential, and non
- judgmental manner

  • To lead by example and set the standards to all
  • Undertake other tasks relating to effective operation and continual improvement that may be required from time to time or as a permanent addition to accountabilities and responsibilities.

Qualifications (preferable but not essential):

  • Level 3 Food Safety
  • Level 3 HACCP
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • Internal Audit
  • Train the trainer or equivalent

Experience:


  • Experience of working in a mentoring / supportive role demonstrating understanding of diversity, equality and inclusion requirements.
  • Experience of working in a Food Manufacturing / Warehousing or Distribution environment, ideally within the training, HR or recruitment functions
  • Experience of working in a fastpaced Unionised environment
