Cemeteries Administrator
Are you a hard-working and reliable person? Do you have experience working in an environment which deals with bereavement issues? In this role, you will provide clerical and administrative support to ensure the service meets its objectives in a cost efficient and effective manner.
Your Duties:
- Assist in the endtoend administration of the company's cemeteries and Crematorium including, but not limited to: City Cemetery, Dundonald Cemetery, Roselawn Cemetery, Cemeteries/Crematorium Central Office, Cecil Ward Building
- In particular for assisting in the booking, recording and processing of statutory documentation for burials and cremations; includes keyholding duties at site offices
- Respond to enquiries and complaints from the public and representatives from the bereavement industry, providing front line customer support as appropriate, in a tactful and sensitive manner
- Assist the public in the selection and identification of graves, by delivering accurate and relevant information
- Deal with funeral directors in relation to all aspects of cemetery administration and funeral arrangements for burial and cremation
- Direct funeral corteges and visitors to graves and other facilities on site as required
- Accept payments for bereavement services including burials and memorialisation
- Ensure accurate and uptodate information is maintained in relation to specifications for foundations
- Liaise with the Cemeteries Central Office and monumental sculptors regarding the enforcement of procedural and policy requirements relating to the checking of headstones and surrounds
- Maintain site maps to assist in the identification of graves for interment in conjunction with cemeteries operations staff
- Assist in the administration of other cemetery sites as required, including assisting the public in the identification of graves
Your Profile:
Applicants must be able to demonstrate at least one year's relevant experience of:
- Working in an environment which deals with bereavement issues including providing advice and support to customers in a sympathetic and sensitive manner
- Undertaking administrative and cash handling duties within a business environment
- Using information technology software such as Microsoft Office, or equivalent packages

- Full-Time, temporary assignment
- 37 hours per week
