The Medical Editor is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and clarity of medical content within medical communications that is appropriately formatted for use across a range of media.

This includes reviewing and editing written materials, such as journal articles, training materials, press releases, strategic documents and marketing materials, to ensure that they are clear, concise, with a logical story flow, and free of both data and typographical errors.

This role can be remote, based in either the UK, Belgium, Germany or Switzerland. We are unable to consider applicants outside of this location. The role can also be hybrid if preferred from our London office.


What you'll do:

  • Reviewing and editing written materials
  • Ensure the accuracy and clarity of medical content
  • Responsible for fact/datachecking and verifying sources, conducting research on medical topics, and staying up to date on the latest medical advancements and guidelines.
  • Work closely with other members of the medical communications team, including writers, designers, account handlers and project managers, to ensure that all materials are accurate and up to date.

What you should have:

  • A strong understanding of medical terminology and principles, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A background in a scientific/medical field and/or medical education/communications is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and principles
  • Good knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a wider team
  • An exceptional eye for detail and ability to proofread and edit written materials accurately
  • Ability to conduct desk research and verify sources
  • Familiarity with the latest medical advancements and guidelines and a thirst for

- on-going learning
  • Experience working in a team environment with strong organisational and communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. science, journalism, communications) or equivalent experience in a scientific/medical field
  • Understanding and familiarity with medical education/communications materials and how copy should best be delivered is preferred but not required
  • Previous experience as a medical editor or in a similar role is preferred, but not required
