JOB PURPOSE

  • To lead and coordinate the activities of the regional Hubs Mobility Advice Service, ensuring clear advice and personalised support is given to people enabling them to access transport solutions.
  • Be responsible for certain Herts Ability (HA) projects at a local level, including involvement in training design and delivery.
  • Collaborate with other mobility centres (via the Driving Mobility network) in sharing ideas, developments, and cross centre knowledge around the Hubs offering.
  • Ensure Quality and Assurance through monitoring accreditation standards, reviewing processes and managing complaints in line with Data Protection Legislation.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

About the role

  • To provide leadership on HA's Hubs Mobility Advice Service, an information and guidance service aimed at providing alternative transport options to those no longer driving, retiring from driving, or unable to drive.
  • To give accurate information and advice relevant to an individual's mobility needs and personal transport solutions goals.
  • Use professional judgement to identify potential risks when advising clients and liaise with the wider health and social team regarding safeguarding issues.
  • When appropriate, signpost clients identified at risk of isolation or loneliness to support services and health related services within their community.
  • To network and engage with relevant statutory, voluntary, and healthcare services including social prescribers to raise awareness of the Hubs Mobility Advice Service as well as HA services. This is a referral pathway that can help widen reach.
  • To continually develop and ensure up to date research on accessible transport solutions and community services in agreed London Boroughs (currently include boroughs) and the counties of Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Buckinghamshire, North and East London.
  • To complete monthly reporting data for HA and quarterly reporting data for the Department for Transport (via Driving Mobility) detailing service success, challenges and identifying gaps observed.
  • To complete annual reports for the Department for Transport outlining the service's performance and defining goals and objectives for future years.
  • To undertake case studies, analysing your caseload and illustrating the assistance you have given during the year. These will be used to secure future funding.

About you

  • Must have held a clientfacing role within the health and social care, disability, local authority, public or charity sector and/or experience of collaborative working/partnership within these sectors
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Awareness of individuals' health and socioeconomic challenges and what support infrastructure is in place to assist people. E.g. awareness of needs assessments via local authorities, memory clinics, social prescribers etc.
  • Ability to travel around Hertfordshire, North and East London work is a mixture of office and community based. A car can be provided.
  • High degree of initiative and ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Is committed to the provision of a high quality, client focused service
