We are currently seeking to recruit a Transport Co-Ordinator and Administrator to be based at Knottingley or Newent.


Role Purpose


The job holder is responsible for the day-to-day management, logistics and compliance monitoring of the 4R fleet (HGV's and cars) and liaising with third party transport companies.

Our business revolves around moving materials around the country. This is done via a network of third party subcontractors and some in house haulage. In addition the Company owns and operates a fleet of Pickups for staff use. This coordination role requires significant amounts of administration and information handling and distribution. This role will be the link between operations, transport, finance and compliance.


Main duties and responsibilities

  • Fleet management of the 4R vehicles (cars, trucks, HGV's)
  • Scheduling and planning of fleet servicing, maintenance, repairs, MOT's and upgrades and replacement etc.
  • Working with the Transport Manager to ensure fleet compliance with the Operators Licence
  • Obtaining quotes from third party transport companies
  • Interacting effectively with clients and suppliers.
  • Accepting orders from our clients and managing booking in procedures
  • Notifying and providing subcontractors with work orders
  • Producing and maintaining reports to ensure compliance through tracking spreadsheets from weekly contact with subcontractors to retrieve tonnage data.
  • Quality and compliance : monitor and ensure compliance of transport activities with all the relevant prevailing regulations and legislation including health, safety, environmental and quality.
  • Development and continuous improvement of 4R Group transport business activities Management of company fuel cards

4R Group shared duties

  • To act as an ambassador for the Group at all times.
  • Health and Safety : to work to and follow all safety regulations under prevailing legislation and any relevant policies and job risk assessment. To report all accidents/near misses within a 2 hour period.
  • Quality Management Systems : to be aware, understand and work to the requirements under the Group's external accreditations including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, 45001, and Achilles.
  • Teamworking : the nature of our work and the size of our team at 4R Group requires everyone here to be flexible. Personal Specification

Qualifications

  • An appropriate transport management qualification (CPC / OLAT etc)

Skills/Knowledge

  • Minimum 2 years' experience of transport and logistics especially bulk transport of solids and liquids
  • IT literate including MS Word and Excel and familiarity with mobile working environment
  • Experience of planning and coordinating road haulage
  • Proven experience in customer relationship and supplier/subcontractor management
  • Understanding of relevant legal requirements for road haulage including working time, O Licence and environmental compliance
  • Understanding of agricultural industry desirable but not essential
  • Experience of managing financial budgets and cost analysis
  • Understanding of waste management Industry

£25,000.00 per year
