Are you an excellent communicator, with a 'can do' attitude looking for a new challenge protecting the environment and the public? Then this may be the role for you.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, confident, and self-motivated Technical Officer to join our busy Environmental Protection team.

You will be part of a team whose work includes the investigation of a range of complaints from business and domestic sources relating to noise, smoke, odour, nuisances and antisocial behaviour, requiring case management and problem solving skills.

Day to day you will work independently to conduct investigations and problem solve to bring cases to resolution. You must be self-motivated with excellent organisational skills and an ability to prioritise your work.

You will also have strong communication and interpersonal skills to be able to deal with a wide range of customers in different and sometimes challenging situations.

Experience in a public facing role would be an advantage.


You will also help deliver the Council's air quality monitoring programme for airborne pollutants and have the opportunity to assist with the inspection and regulation of prescribed processes such as petrol filling stations.

Although this is a full time post we will consider applicants wishing to work part time.
